ABOUT YOUR GUIDE

I’m Capt. Charlie Martin, a full-time fly and light-tackle fishing guide located in North Florida where my passion is stalking fish in shallow water. Our tidal creeks spanning off the Intracoastal waterways here offer ample opportunities to follow the tides and find redfish tailing, backing and eating different baits depending on the time of year. Fishing can be explosive, whether that’s watching a redfish flare his gills and inhale a crab fly in a foot of water or reeling in fish after fish out of a hole. North Florida has a little something for everyone. It is my privilege as a guide to facilitate experiences allowing my clients a little sneak peak into what Jacksonville’s waterways and landscape has to offer.
My skiff is a 17’ Maverick HPX-S with a Yamaha 70 on the back. It floats shallow and rides smoothly through rougher waters. This skiff allows us to sneak up on fish with the utmost quietness and float in just a few inches. It can accommodate myself plus two guests.
The day ultimately belongs to my clients. Where we go can be largely affected by wind, weather and tidal conditions, but ultimately I’m driven by providing the best and most memorable day possible out on the water. Jacksonville is an hidden gem and our fishery here has much to offer.
