What to Know
A few things about the trip...
1. I am strictly a CATCH AND RELEASE guide
If you plan on filling up your cooler with fish, I am not the guide for you. If you want to anchor up, crack open a beverage and soak baits on the bottom, I am also not the guide for you. I will be happy to refer you to other guides who specialize in these types of fishing.
2. I am a light-tackle SIGHT FISHING guide
Meaning I stalk fish in shallow water and cast either flies or artificial lures in front of them. I rely heavily on verbal communication, eyesight and accurate casting. We are not anchoring up and waiting on fish to come to us. Anglers who are successful are willing to stand on the front of the boat and actively look for fish, listen for aid and instruction and have fun doing it all.

3. I utilize the PUSH POLE... a lot
I am a sight fishing guide and to do so we move around a lot. If we're not running on the motor than I am on the poling platform and expect my angler to be positioned on the front of the boat ready to cast at fish.

4. If you are fly fishing, please know how to DOUBLE HAUL
It will help in windy conditions, allow for quick casts, cast longer distances, and eliminate some false casting. The double haul is an essential technique to know before booking a saltwater fly fishing trip with a guide, so please practice your double haul before the trip to increase your chances of catching fish. I will be happy to help you out with your casting if needed while on the water.

What to Bring
Helpful (and required) gear to be successful
1. Polarized sunglasses!
This is a must. You will not be able to see the fish without polarized sunglasses. I personally recommend Costa Del Mar and specifically an amber or copper colored lens.

2. Hat

3. Snacks/lunch
I will have a cooler up front with waters and ice for your use and convenience.
4. If you have a "lucky" rod and reel, feel free to bring it along.

5. Please no black soled shoes
They make marks on the boat that are challenging to remove. You're also welcome to go shoeless.

6. Long sleeve fishing shirt and/or sunscreen
But please NO spray sunscreen on the boat. If you have spray sunscreen, apply before getting on the boat because that stuff will stain the deck and ruin gear.

6. There is storage for one backpack or two small bags for your gear
Please feel free to utilize the front hatch for your items, but remember it is a small skiff and space is limited.
